n June 30, 2010, H.E. Mr. Zhang Xianyi, Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh gave a speech on the topic of "Chinese Economic Development and Its Influence" at Bangladesh Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC). DSCSC Commandant, Major General Mohmmad Shamim Chowdhury, 175 cadets from 19 countries (China, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, USA, Saudi Arabia etc.), and Chinese Embassy diplomats participated in the event.

Audient raised questions

With rich facts and figures, Ambassador Zhang made a detailed introduction on China's achievements in economic and social fields over the past 30 plus years since the reform and opening-up and the successful experience; analyzed the challenges facing Chinese development, introduced the policies and measures adopted by Chinese Government to counter the global financial crisis and the contribution of China maintaining steady economic growth to the revitalization of world economy; elaborated on China's peaceful development path. Ambassador Zhang also answered questions concerning the relationship between Taiwan Straits, Sino-Bangladesh relationship, cooperation between China and ASEAN, Sino-Africa relationship, Climate Change, etc.
